Dr. Andrew Atwood, DDS

Meet your Gig Harbor Dentist Dr. Andrew Atwood, a transplant raised in Salem, Utah setting his roots down deep in the Pacific Northwest enjoying an active outdoors life with mountain activities like snowboarding, back country split-boarding, and backpacking/hiking. When it’s not snowy out he enjoys kiteboarding, live music – especially fond of the Seattle Symphony, creative writing and poetry, gardening, and cooking. Passionate and dedicated to lifelong learning, he pursued a bachelor’s degree in music composition before enrolling at the University of Iowa to begin his career in dentistry. Raising four kids to be kind and thoughtful adults who believe in treating people and our planet with love and respect is an accomplishment Dr. Atwood feels represents his own values and the life and legacy he wishes to contribute to the world. In his professional career, he has nurtured his creative soul merging it with a detail-oriented, scientific mind to achieve true craftmanship and highly esthetic and long-lasting dentistry. Dr. Atwood is excited to be part of the team and to dedicate his expertise to the patients.

The dental tech who did the treatment was spot on! The treatment was not difficult but it was hard to lie still for an hour! She gave me a blanket and I was so comfortable that I was almost asleep! The only part I wish I had known before the treatment was it is recommend to have a Teeth Whitening by your dentist. Otherwise, I highly recommend Gig Harbor dentist at Optima Dental.

Best, most in-depth teeth cleaning ever (and I'm 71!). Kristie evaluated every tooth and gums, tongue, salivary glands, sinus, jaw hinge joint, lymphs. Then carefully cleaned and polished my teeth. Very thorough! She was very gentle and interesting and had many good suggestions for dental health which I intend to follow. Then I met with Dr Mary who suggested follow up based on the detailed cleaning. I look forward to being there again.

I finally found a exceptional dentist and staff. Mary Correll at Optima dental Spa in Gig Harbor WA. She listened to me when I told her I have not had good dental experiences in the past, I have a small mouth, making it tight to work in, I am sensitive to pain and need a lot of numbing, even when giving me the injections she was so gentle and she was understanding, I was a first time patient with her. I had a crown come out, I needed a new dentist due to ins. change..Was not happy at all at the last dentist, I had and often waited to long to go in..to avoid those issues. I am so pleased with my visit, They worked me in for a last minute appt, which in itself was awesome so I did not have to go thru the weekend dealing with hot and cold sensitively. I have never felt that way about going to the dentist ever.... You must go to her if you need dental work and her staff were so friendly and efficient!! Great place!!
