Missing teeth can cause many issues such as difficulty eating, self-consciousness, and oral health problems. At Optima Dental Spa, we proudly offer start-to-finish dental implant services to fill in the gaps in your smile and get you back to enjoying life to the fullest!

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are tiny titanium posts surgically implanted into the jawbone in the place where your natural teeth once were. The implants are biocompatible and actually fuse with the jawbone over time. They provide a stable base for tooth restorations to attach at your gumline.

Benefits of Dental Implants

Dental implants are a popular restorative treatment among patients and dentists alike. They provide a wide array of benefits for patients including:

  • Easy Maintenance
  • Fuller Cheeks & Lips
  • More Youthful Appearance
  • Prevention of Jawbone Degradation
  • Long-Lasting Results That Look & Feel Natural

Caring for Dental Implants

Once your dental implants are in place, there are a few key things you can do to keep them in tip-top shape throughout your lifetime. Even though the tooth restorations aren’t real teeth, you should treat them as such.

Implants topped with dental crowns should be brushed at least twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush and toothpaste. This will keep bacteria and food particles from accumulating along your gumline. Flossing is also crucial in preventing gum disease. Healthy gums are critical for keeping your implants anchored in place.

Those with an implant-supported bridge may find that a water flosser helps remove food particles and plaque.

For implants topped with dentures, remove the dentures and soak them in denture-specific cleaner at least once a day. Gently brush them with a denture-specific brush to remove any bacteria buildup or food residue.

Tooth Replacement at Optima Dental Spa

While dental implants can drastically improve your quality of life, you must continue to take care of your oral health so your implants stay firmly anchored in healthy gums and a healthy jawbone.
